Homeground Knitting Pattern Collection

The oldest form of knitting, crossed knitting, was highly developed by the Nazca culture in South America around 100 BC. They used this knitting style to produce intricate and decorative fringing and borders on other garments, even on shoes. These often depicted human and animal figures. The knitting fibre they used was, of course, alpaca.

Homeground Collection pattern book With the recent resurgence in the art of hand knitting many experienced and new knitters are producing luxurious hand-knitted garments which are both a delight to make and to wear.

The textures and colours of our knitting yarns work from the simplest, unstructured patterns to the more traditional Aran, also featured in this collection. Alpaca’s softness, lightness and warmth will reward you with comfortable and elegant garments for years to come.

We think you will find the knitting patterns in this book easy to use with a mixture of the straight forward and the more challenging.

We have aimed to provide a balance between family oriented knitting patterns, homewares and classic knits.
